AMEU at the Festival of the Third Age


From 29 September to 1 October 2014 the Festival of the Third Age is taking place again, this time in Cankarjev dom Cultural and Congress Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The Festival of the Third Age (F3ŽO) is a unique event for older people in Slovenia and one of the biggest of its kind in Europe.

Alma Mater Europaea – ECM also participates at the festival and on Monday, the 29 September 2014 organizes a roundtable, as part of the educational program, on the topic “Signs and prevention of a stroke AND heart attack and rehabilitation, if we have suffered them”.

The roundtable will be moderated by Maja Štager, a graduate in Social Gerontology. Also participating are two lecturers from AMEU, doc. dr. Breda Jesenšek Papež, Head of the Institute of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the university medical centre UKC Maribor, and Bojan Korošec, dr. med., a specialist in internal medicine and director of the General Hospital Murska Sobota.

As part of the roundtable, which will take place at 12 am in hall M4, experts will talk about the warning signs of a heart attack or stroke and also about how health consequences can be mitigated, if the first warning signs are properly handled.

For the entire duration of the festival F3ŽO AMEU will be present at Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre with its exhibition stand, where you will learn more about studying at AMEU, especially about the study program Social Gerontology, which is carried out at all three Bologna levels, as well as about the various activities of social gerontology students.
